Venue, Time, and Date Announced for 2016 Reebok CrossFit Invitational

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Canada would play host to the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Invitational. Now an annual competition featuring some of the sports’ top athletes, the Invitational pits teams (and continents) against one another in order to test elite CrossFitters in an all-star setting. While we’ll have to wait a few more days for final rosters, earlier this week, CrossFit announced a few more key details fans have been waiting for.

This year’s competition will take place on Sunday, November 20th, at the General Motors Centre in Toronto, CanadaThe action kicks off at 4pm EST (local time in Toronto).

Live streaming of the competition will be available at Games.CrossFit.com and on CrossFit’s YouTube page. ESPN2 will air coverage of the event at a later date.

Unfortunately for eager fans, we’ll have to wait until September 27th to find out who will comprise each of the elite teams. Last year’s event was held in Madrid, Spain, and saw Team USA cruise to victory over teams from Canada and the Pacific/Europe regions. The Invitational debuted in 2012 with a Team USA versus Team World format. Since 2014, the event has featured teams from the USA, Canada, Pacific, and Europe at every event.

Generally, teams are comprised of the top two male and female finishers from each country/region at that year’s CrossFit Games, though there are usually exceptions base don athlete availability and injuries.
